Individual Giving Intern

New York City Ballet is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible individual who has a strong interest in development, patron relations, database management, and research for a summer internship, with possibility for extension. Duration of this internship is July 1 – August 31. Exact dates flexible based on successful applicant’s schedule.

  • Conducting research on and create profiles for current and potential donors
  • Assisting with drafting and proofing of copy for donor communications
  • Coordinating donor mailings and assisting with printing and organizing invitations, letters and labels for mailings
  • Assisting with acknowledgments and other donor benefit fulfillment and/or requests as necessary
  • Organizing event data for upload to database and assisting with other data entry as needed
  • Sending out daily mail
  • Keeping supplies and forms replenished and stored
  • Occasionally assisting with other Development needs or events
  • Providing general administrative support to Development as needed
  • Depending of time commitment, possible opportunity to learn and assist with the planned giving program

  • Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced work environment
  • Sense of discretion when dealing with confidential informatio
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Database experience helpful (Tessitura, Raiser’s Edge, etc.)

This internship is unpaid.  However, benefits include access to ballet performances and special events for patrons. Office dress is business casual during the business day and formal for Special Events. Desired time commitment is at least three full-time days per week with flexibility to schedule.  Academic credit may be arranged.
