Dark and sophisticated, Neverwhere is former NYCB Principal Dancer Benjamin Millepied's fifth work for NYCB and features futuristic costumes by Iris Van Herpen made of layered plastic scales.

Benjamin Millepied’s Neverwhere, set to Drones and Viola by the choreographer’s frequent musical collaborator Nico Muhly, premiered at NYCB’s 2013 Fall Gala performance. With a cast of six dancers, Neverwhere features dramatic lighting by Mark Stanley and costumes made of hundreds of thin plastic chips, designed by Dutch designer Iris Van Herpen. Millepied, a former NYCB dancer who co-founded the L.A. Dance Project in 2012, will be become the Paris Opera Ballet’s new director of dance in September 2014.
