Giovanni Villalobos was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. He began stuyding ballet at age eight at Taller de Varones. He attended summer courses at the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet, in 2000 and 2001, and became a full time student that fall. In June 2004 he became an apprentice with NYCB and joined the corps de ballet in July 2005.

Film Credits

Mr. Villalobos appeared in the film NY EXPORT: OPUS JAZZ, a scripted adaptation of the Jerome Robbins ballet of the same name, which aired on PBS and won an Audience Award at the 2010 South by Southwest Film Festival.

Mr. Villalobos was the recipient of the Mae L. Wien Award for Outstanding Promise in 2003.
