Martins' quicksilver Hallelujah Junction starts with its angular, contemporary choreography, followed by Wheeldon’s two latest works for NYCB: Soirée Musicale is a charming work full of waltzes and tangos and A Place For Us is a highly inventive pas de deux. Firebird adds a magical touch, featuring an enchanting story and luscious sets and costumes by Marc Chagall.

Hallelujah Junction is a living locomotive of driving energy, set to a pulsing John Adams score played by two onstage pianists.

At the 2013 Spring Gala, NYCB will premiere Christopher Wheeldon's Soirée Musicale, originally choreographed for the School of American Ballet's annual workshop performance in 1998.
A Place for Us

The second of two new ballets by Christopher Wheeldon premiering at the 2013 Spring Gala will be a pas de deux to scores for clarinet and piano by André Previn and Leonard Bernstein.
