In his own words, George Balanchine called the exuberant Allegro Brillante "everything I know about classical ballet in thirteen minutes."

Dark and deadly, The Cage plunges into the world of natural selection, depicting the feral instinct compelling the female of an insect species to consider its male counterpart as prey.
Andantino

Set to the lilting second movement of Tschaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, Robbins infused this pas de deux with a sense of sweetness and unforced drama.
Stravinsky Violin Concerto

- Choreography by: George Balanchine
- Principal Casting: June 1 Eve, June 2 Mat: Sterling Hyltin, Robert Fairchild, Maria Kowroski, TBD
A carefully-woven masterpiece of geometry and ingenuity, Stravinsky Violin Concerto is a work of symmetry and order on the outside, but the pair of orchestral arias at its core provides the inspiration for two of Balanchine's most unique pas de deux.
