Starting at only $10 per person, Group Adventures offer student, family, senior, and performance groups a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interact with and learn from NYCB artists.

Ballet Class

Private class with a NYCB dancer

In this once-in-a-lifetime experience, young dance students (ages 13 and older with prior ballet experience) have the opportunity to take a thrilling, private class taught by a NYCB dancer. There’s no better way to learn ballet than from the professionals themselves! A few non-participating group members may observe for a $10 fee. 60-90 minute classSaturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.

Performance Workshop

Personalized class and coaching session with a NYCB dancer

Advanced level performance groups are invited inside the rehearsal studio with the option to learn choreography from NYCB's 2015-16 repertory season or to receive coaching on an existing routine from a Company member. Non-participating group members may observe for a $10 fee. 60-90 minute workshop. Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.

Meet the Musician

See the music and hear the dance from a musician’s perspective

NYCB is fortunate to feature live music performed by the Company’s own 62-piece Orchestra. In a pre-performance discussion, your group will enjoy the splendor of the Theater as an Orchestra member leads a conversation on music’s integral contribution to the beauty of a ballet performance. 45-minute discussion.

Dress Makes the Dance

Behind-the-scenes glimpse into NYCB’s costume shop NYCB's Costume Shop supervisor will guide you on a tour of various locations where costumes are stored and readied for use in performances, while sharing insights on costume design, creation, and maintenance. 45-minute tour.

Meet the Dancer

Experience ballet from the other side of the footlights

A NYCB dancer will escort your group, sharing insights into the life of a dancer and answering questions about the performance your group is attending. He or she will share interesting moments from the history of both NYCB and our home, the David H. Koch Theater. You'll also have an opportunity for a breathtaking view of the auditorium from the stage. 45-minute discussion.
