Concerto in Five Movements

Choreography by: Robert La Fosse

Music by: Sergei Prokofiev

From its stark opening image — a line of 16 women in stunning red bathing suits flanked by eight men in brown — to its dramatically innovative pas de deux and bravura ensembles, Mr. LaFosse’s fourth work for New York City Ballet radiates verve and energy.  The music is filled with continuous changes of meter, and the kaleidoscopic choreography mirrors the score’s mild dissonance and off-kilter rhythms.
