Originally titled Seven by Five.
Seven by Five (the ballet's original title) was principal dancer and Assistant Ballet Master Bart Cook's first choreographic piece. The work was originally danced as a work-in-progress by students at the School of American Ballet, and was given its official premiere at Saratoga Springs, during New York City Ballet's annual summer season. Although Seven by Five Plus Two is plotless, the various configurations described by the pastel-clad women and men hint at playful amorous encounters and casual little games.
