Urban Dances

Choreography by: Miriam Mahdaviani

Music by: Richard Danielpour

Danced to a bright and jazzy commissioned score, Urban Dances reflects the non-stop speed and exuberant rhythms of city life. According to Ms. Mahdaviani, “The composer and I are both New Yorkers and we wanted to capture the energy of New York at night in this ballet.” Dressed in neon-colored leotards, the 19 dancers perform a series of technically challenging and novel duets, trios, and ensembles.
