Background

Pauline Golbin was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and began her dance training with Martha Mahr in Miami, Florida. In 1990, she received a Princess Grace Foundation Emerging Artist Grant to become the first apprentice with Miami City Ballet. After studying at the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet, she became an apprentice with New York City Ballet in 1992 and a member of the corps de ballet in May of 1994.
