Justin Peck comes from Encinitas, California. Before beginning his studies at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, in the summer of 2003, he studied at California Ballet for two years. He was named a New York City Ballet apprentice in 2006 and in spring 2007 joined the NYCB corps de ballet.
