Construction Updates

Renovations to the David H. Koch Theater Have Been Completed.
New aisles have been added to the orchestra; all new seating has been installed; the construction of a new orchestra pit with enhanced acoustics has been completed; wheelchair locations have been added in the orchestra, first ring, and fourth ring; new carpeting and wall coverings have been installed through the theater; and all restrooms on each level have been renovated. The two artworks, Jasper Johns' sculpmetal work Numbers and Lee Bontecou's mixed media piece Untitled Relief, have been restored to their places in the David H. Koch Theater.
Lincoln Center is under construction!New York City Ballet encourages you to check this space before your visits to the David H. Koch Theater to be sure you are knowledgeable about mass transit, parking, and other access issues before arriving for a performance. Daily updates will be made to this section so that you have the latest news to speed your way into and out of the David H. Koch Theater during this period.
However you travel, New York City Ballet encourages you to allow extra time so that you don’t miss a single minute of your performance.

LANDMARKS
The Henry Moore reclining sculpture has been restored in front of Lincoln Center Theater and the bright orange Alexander Calder sculpture in front of the entrance to the New York Public Library for Performing Arts Research restored. The Revson Fountain renovations are complete.
Patrons with Limited Mobility:
The best option for patrons with limited mobility who require access to the David H. Koch Theater with as few stairs as possible is to be dropped off on W. 62nd. St. At the west end of the Theater prior to Damrosch Park. Patrons exiting vehicles at this location should then proceed north (toward Lincoln Center Plaza) along the side of the Theater and turn right at the west end of the terrace to reach the main Lobby entrance.
Wheelchair patrons may also be discharged at the David H. Koch Theater Wheelchair Entrance beginning 30 minutes before the start of the performance. Individuals wishing to access the Wheelchair Entrance for the David H. Koch Theater should use the Lincoln Center Parking Garage entrance on Amsterdam Avenue at 63rd Street. Specifically, please utilize the second entrance, marked as Reserved Customers Only. Please notify the security guard on duty of the need to access this entrance. Then, follow the drive to the right.
The Wheelchair Entrance is located near the last pillar on the left hand side (David H. Koch Theater Wheelchair Entrance is marked above the door and on the last pillar). Please use the red telephone directly outside the entrance to be buzzed into the building. Once inside, a security guard will direct you to the elevators that will take you to the Orchestra Level.

A wheelchair-accessible elevator is located to the right of the Box Office windows in the Lobby to transport individuals from the Lobby to the Orchestra Level of the Theater, where they can change elevators for access to any level.

New Activity:
- On October 17, the entrance to the downtown subway station in front of Avery Fisher Hall on Columbus between 64th and 65th Streets is closed. Downtown subway access will remain available at 66th St. and Broadway
- Access to the underground concourse is no longer available from the downtown subway platform at 64th St. and Columbus. You may still enter the subway from 66th St. and Broadway.
- Work has begun for a new grove at 62nd Street providing visitors with additional inviting green space opposite the visitor space scheduled for Fall 2009.
Closure of 65th Street Pedestrian Concourse Entry – November 2nd
In order to safely progress construction at the 65th Street concourse entrance, this entrance area will close to pedestrian traffic on Monday, November 2nd for several months to allow for the installation of the steel canopy, glass curtain wall and adjacent staircase and elevator to North Plaza. This closure will last throughout the fall/winter performance season. Pedestrian access to the North Loop area will be accommodated via: 64th Street and Amsterdam, the concourse/plaza stairs of the Met Opera, Avery Fisher Hall and Lincoln Center Theater (each during operating hours) and from the South Loop via the Central Concourse. Way-finding signage will be deployed to guide patron and employee access.
Modification of Pedestrian Walkway in North Loop – November 2nd
As the North Loop Roadway is nearing completion, the protected pedestrian corridor will be temporarily shifted into the new roadway area to allow for demolition and reconstruction of the existing sidewalk currently used by pedestrians. Work in this area will be phased to maintain continuous access between the North Loop and Central Concourse. Way-finding signage will be deployed to guide patron and employee access.
