Baritone

Rising young baritone Jeremy Kelly begins his 2007-08 season with a return to Kentucky Opera for Ping in Turando later joins the New York City Ballet as guest soloist in performances of Bernstein’s Dybbuk  and returns to Cincinnati Opera for Marquis in La traviata. His upcoming engagements include Belcore in L’elisir d’amore with Dayton Opera, Masetto in Don Giovanni with Nashville Opera and his first performances of Carmina Burana with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra.  Among his previous engagements are acclaimed portrayals of Schaunard in La Bohème with Seattle Opera for he was praised for “giving more vocal life to Schaunard than I've heard or seen in a long time” (Opera News) as we as previous performances of the role with Cincinnati Opera and Kentucky Opera. 

As a member of the prestigious Seattle Opera Young Artists Program, he sang Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro in 2005.  While a member of Cincinnati Opera’s Young Artist Program, Mr. Kelly sang Moralès in Carmen, Baron Douphol in La Traviata, and Mandarin in Turandot.  He also performed Marcello in La Bohème in student performances with Kentucky Opera as a member of the company’s Young Artist Program.

On the concert stage, he has joined the Dayton Bach Society for Bach’s Cantata No. 106, Haydn’s Theresienmesse, and Rutter’s The Wind in the Willows.  He has also sung Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kijé  with the Seattle Philharmonic and performances of Faure’s Requiem and Bach’s Cantata No. 97 in Cincinnati.

Mr. Kelly holds both a Master and Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music.
