New York City Ballet Presents Its 2010 Fall Gala Featuring A New York Premiere By Benjamin Millepied On Thursday, October 6 At Lincoln Center

Sarah Jessica Parker to Serve As The Event's Honorary Chairman


To celebrate its inaugural fall season at Lincoln Center, New York City Ballet will present a special one-time-only gala performance on Thursday, October 7 at the David H. Koch Theater.

The highlight of the evening is the New York premiere of a new ballet by NYCB Principal Dancer Benjamin Millepied set to a commissioned score from Pulitzer-Prize winning composer David Lang.   The program will also include George Balanchine’s Tarantella and an excerpt from Western Symphony, as well as Jerome Robbins’ I’m Old Fashioned.

The gala evening will begin with cocktails at 5:30 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. performance, and concluding with an elegant supper ball on the Koch Theater promenade.

Sarah Jessica Parker, newly elected to the New York City Ballet board of directors, will serve as the event’s honorary chairman, with Maria-Cristina Anzola, Jane Carroll, Barbara Evans, and Carol A. Smith as event chairmen.
