New York City Ballet Announces $25 Orchestra Seats For 2009 Winter Season

Anonymous Donor Underwrites 50 Orchestra Seats Per Performance

New York City Ballet announced today that an anonymous donor has underwritten 50 Orchestra seats for each performance during the 2009 winter repertory season. Regularly priced at $90, the underwriting will make 50 Orchestra seats for each performance available for just $25 each. The tickets will be sold through CenterCharge at 212-721-6500, and at the box office at the
David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.

The $25 tickets will go on sale each Monday for that week’s performances, beginning Monday, January 5, for performances beginning Tuesday, January 6. Tickets will not be sold online.

A total of 2500 tickets will be made available through this offer, for all winter repertory performances with the exception of the January 10 matinee of Coppélia, the January 14 tribute to the School of American Ballet, and the Valentine’s Day matinee performance on Saturday, February 14.

“Thanks to this extremely generous gift, we hope to introduce a new generation of audiences to the incredible works in the New York City Ballet repertory,” said NYCB Ballet Master in Chief Peter Martins. Martins added that the donor requested that the tickets be available each Monday for that week’s performances, rather than through a daily rush program, so audience members taking advantage of the offer would have the opportunity to plan ahead.

New York City Ballet’s 2009 winter repertory season opens on Tuesday, January 6, and continues through Sunday, March 1. For information on any New York City Ballet performance call 212-870-5570, or visit www.nycballet.com.
