ALEXEY MIROSHNICHENKO
Alexey Miroshnichenko was born in Ukraine. He began his ballet training at the Vaganova Ballet Academy. Mr. Miroshnichenko joined the Maryinsky Ballet in 1992 where his repertory includes Giselle, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Swan Lake and George Balanchine's Jewels, Scotch Symphony and Theme and Variations. In 1996, he entered the Choreography Department at the Vaganova Academy as a student, and is currently a teacher at the Academy. He has choreographed for the Vaganova Ballet Academy, Maryinsky Theater, and Novosibirsk State Theater of Opera and Ballet. At a workshop hosted by the Bolshoi Theater, Mr. Miroshnichenko presented his Hungarian Dances (Brahms). Mr. Miroshnichenko has assisted William Forsythe and serves as a ballet master for his ballets In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated and Steptext at the Maryinsky.
Most recently he was made the principal coach for William Forsythe's Approximate Sonata, and choreographed new ballets for the 10th international ballet competition in Moscow as well as for the celebration of the 750th anniversary of the city of Kaliningrad.
