DARIUS D. BARNES
Darius D. Barnes is a resident student at School of American Ballet in New York, NY. He began dancing at 5, studying in various schools in Baltimore, MD. He attended Baltimore Actors' Theatre Conservatory, and accompanied the school to England where he did a summer exchange program at Elmhurst School for the Arts. He attended Baltimore School for The Arts until his acceptance at School of American Ballet. Darius has attended various dance programs including Universal Ballet Academy in Washington, D.C., Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, Washington, and he apprenticed at Chautauqua Institution in New York. Most recently, Darius was awarded a full scholarship by Catherine Zeta-Jones for the American Ballet Theatre under the direction of the National Dance Foundation of Bermuda. He's also performed in both the 2005 and 2006 annual School of American Ballet Workshop and choreographed for the 2006 S.A.B. Student Choreographic Workshop.
