LUCY VAN CLEEF

Lucy Van Cleef completed her dance training at the School of American Ballet in 2006, after studying at the New Jersey School of Ballet, Ballet Academy East, and the San Francisco Ballet School. She had the opportunity to explore choreography by participating in student choreography workshops hosted by SAB (2005) and BAE (2004).

Ms. Van Cleef is currently an apprentice with North Carolina Dance Theater, directed by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux and Patricia McBride. She has performed numerous roles with the company this season, and this February she choreographed a piece for fellow apprentices, as part of their exclusive repertoire. This work was critiqued by a judge for the Regional Dance America Festival, and it received praise for showing outstanding promise in a new work by an emerging choreographer.
