MASSIMILIANO VOLPINI

Massimiliano Volpini, born in Rome, began studying classical dance with Giuseppe Urbani. In 1986 he won the silver medal at the International Competition in Bordeaux.  Between 1988 and 1991 Mr. Volpini worked with many ballet companies throughout Italy, including the Balletto di Venezia, Balletto di Roma, Comunale di Firenze, Arena di Verona, and in Slovenia with the Opera of Ljubljana. Since 1991, Mr. Volpini has worked with the Ballet of La Scala, where in 1995 he began  choreographing. He has since created many ballets for La Scala, Euroballetto Company, La Scala School, Virginia Ballet Theatre, Todi Festival, School of Teatro dell'Opera of Rome, Music Biennale Zagreb and for Roberto Bolle.
