Olivier Wevers
Olivier Wevers is from Brussels, Belgium and was a principal at Royal Winnipeg Ballet prior to joining Pacific Northwest Ballet in 1997 where he currently is a principal dancer. During his career Mr. Wevers has danced many works from the classics, to new contemporary works. His wide range of repertoire is testament to his versatility and range. Mr. Wevers performed the "Divertissement" pas de deux in the BBC's 1999 film version of Pacific Northwest Ballet's production of George Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream, filmed at Sadler's Wells Theatre, London. He has performed as a guest artist in North America and Asia. In 2004 he appeared with the New York City Ballet during the Balanchine Centennial Celebration. In addition to his performing career, Mr. Wevers is active as a choreographer. Since 1993 he has choreographed works for numerous companies and schools in Canada, Japan, and the United States. In 2005 he choreographed an original one-act production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream for the Reiko Yamamoto Ballet in Japan.
