NEW YORK CHOREOGRAPHIC INSTITUTE
VIDEO INTRODUCTION
In 2005, the New York Choreographic Institute celebrated its fifth anniversary of encouraging young artists from around the world as they build skills and pursue their curiosity in ways that promise to keep classical choreography always fresh, always rooted in today. Participants have included young choreographers, composers, costume designers, dancers, and musicians. All are in the process of formation as they seek to define their special voice, their unique vision.
Collaboration is always encouraged and fostered, often with exciting consequences. The NYCI video introduction was filmed to mark the Institute's fifth anniversary and shows many of the artists at work during NYCI sessions and reflecting on what the experience has meant to their development. Also, you will hear from the Institute's artistic leadership about the principles that have inspired this very special commitment. The video introduction runs for 20 minutes and can be viewed in three parts.
