A variety of audience favorites, this evening begins with Balanchine’s first international masterpiece, Apollo, and is followed by Robbins’ enthralling ballet in silence, Moves. The program ends with the ultimate classical ballet, the glittering Symphony in C, featuring costumes adorned by Swarovski crystals.

BALANCHINE & ROBBINS: MASTERS AT WORK

Apollo
- Music by: Igor Stravinsky
- Choreography by: George Balanchine
Balanchine's first major collaboration with Stravinsky and one of his earliest international successes, Apollo presents the young god as he is ushered into adulthood by the muses of poetry, mime, and dance.
Moves
- Choreography by: Jerome Robbins
Forgoing scenery, elaborate costumes, and even musical accompaniment, this ballet in silence enthralls with the unexpected intensity it evokes through movement alone.
Symphony in C
- Music by: Georges Bizet
- Choreography by: George Balanchine*
Featuring new costumes created in collaboration with Swarovski, this classical masterpiece dazzles audiences with its crystalline luminosity, a cast of over 50 dancers, and a spectacular finale.
