Celebrating the melodies of a legendary stage and screen composer, this program opens with the sophisticated Thou Swell and some of Richard Rodgers’ most popular songs. Wheeldon’s balletic version of the musical Carousel evokes the innocent romance and rough and tumble setting of its Broadway predecessor, and Slaughter on Tenth Avenue closes the performance with its vaudevillian humor and flirtatious choreography.
