Two contemporary Martins works open the performance: Calcium Light Night features a man and woman in playful mode and River of Light is an exploration in partnering for three interchanging couples. Two Hearts features quicksilver movements and striking costumes by Rodarte, and Firebird lends a magical touch with its enchanting story and luscious sets and costumes by Marc Chagall.

Calcium Light Night

Peter Martins' first ballet, a series of solos and duets for two dancers that is set to eight short pieces by Ives, is an edgy, contemporary work full of propulsive movement.
River of Light
- Music by: Charles Wuorinen
- Choreography by: Peter Martins
- Principal Casting: May 14, 18 Mat, 23: Teresa Reichlen, Savannah Lowery, Erica Pereira, Amar Ramasar, Jonathan Stafford, Chase Finlay* (*first time in role)
Featuring stunning lighting effects that create geometric patterns onstage, River of Light is an exploration in partnering, at times angular and other moments lyrical, for three interchanging couples.
Two Hearts
- Music by: Nico Muhly
- Choreography by: Benjamin Millepied
- Principal Casting: May 15, 17, 23: Tiler Peck, Tyler Angle
With geometric black and white costumes by Rodarte, Two Hearts is a constantly shifting profusion of steps and shapes that ends with a soulful pas de deux to a bittersweet ballad.
Firebird
- Music by: Igor Stravinsky
- Choreography by: George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins

Dressed in Chagall’s exquisite sets and costumes, Firebird illustrates an enchanting fairytale and the fantastical creatures of its mysterious world.
