New York City Ballet is New York at its best, embodying the dynamic pulse, innovative style, and infinite variety of this radiant metropolis. And, with over 100 phenomenal dancers and a stunning 62-piece orchestra, every NYCB performance is a thrilling experience.

SEASON OVERVIEW
Our 2009 Winter Season features some of the Company's most spectacular works: the monumental scope of George Balanchine's Vienna Waltzes and his rousing Stars and Stripes, Jerome Robbins' immortal West Side Story Suite, and the charming full-length Coppélia, which tells the tale of a mad inventor and the life-like doll he creates.

The foremost creative ballet company in the world, NYCB will also present two not-to-be-missed world premieres. NEW COMBINATIONS: A TRIBUTE TO NUREYEV celebrates Rudolf Nureyev's profound achievements in the world of dance with a program that includes a new work by British-born Douglas Lee.  Also, 21ST CENTURY MOVEMENT features a world premiere by NYCB alumna Melissa Barak.

An additional season highlight is the return of Alexei Ratmansky's critically-acclaimed Concerto DSCH, cited byThe New York Times as "the most captivating classical ballet premiere in years."
