Special Events Intern (Fall 2014)

The New York City Ballet is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible individual who has a strong interest in gaining an understanding of fundraising through the preparation of gala benefits and database management.

  • Assist with printing letters, envelopes, and assembling invitations
    Proof copy for website, newsletter, and solicitation collateral
    Draft copy for printed materials, website, e-mail blasts, and donor correspondence
    Provide check-in support at events as required
    Update out-of-date email addresses and evaluate bounce back list
    Compile Special Events Playbill listings for 14-month cumulative giving
    Database updates and management as it pertains to Special Events mailing lists
    Organize press clippings for gala benefit coverage
    Answer incoming calls, field questions, and take gala orders
    Special projects as assigned
    Provide general administrative support to the department as needed
  • Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced work environment
    Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and Tessitura a plus
This internship is unpaid.  Desired time commitment is at least 24 hours per week with flexibility to schedule, August – December, 2014. School credit may be arranged.
