Where is New York City Ballet located?

New York City Ballet performs at the David H. Koch Theater in Lincoln Center, located at West 63rd Street and Broadway. The #1 local train stops at the 66th Street station, and the #1, A, B, C, and D trains stop at the 59th Street Columbus Circle Station. The M5, M7, M11, M66, and M104 bus lines all stop within one block of Lincoln Center. The David H. Koch Theater has both an elevator and escalator from the sub-level concourse to the plaza level.

Is there charter bus parking nearby?

Street parking for charter buses is sometimes available on West 62nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. All tour buses must abide by New York City Department of Transportation regulations. In the event that street parking is not available, bus parking is available at Central Parking System, 641 West 59th Street, between Eleventh and Twelfth Avenues (call 212-265-1189 for more information and pricing).

What is the dress code?

There is no standard dress code for the ballet. We recommend comfortable clothing appropriate for a professional setting.

Is there food and beverage available on site?

The David H. Koch Theater offers a selection of sandwiches, cookies, candy, and beverages for sale. Please ask your Group Sales representative about special arrangements and recommendations for group-friendly pre-theater or post-theater dining.

Do you offer a reduced ticket price for student or senior groups?

Student and senior groups receive the same discount as other groups.

What time should we arrive?

Audience members are admitted to the David H. Koch Theater lobbies one hour prior to the start of the performance, and the auditorium opens for seating 30 minutes before curtain. If you are picking up your tickets at the Box Office, please allow at least 15 minutes to do so. If you purchased a Meet the Dancer or Meet the Musician, you need to arrive 90 minutes prior to performance time.

What if we purchased more tickets than we are able to use?

New York City Ballet does not issue refunds or exchanges on group tickets. If you are unable to find an alternate person, you may return the ticket/s not being used back to New York City Ballet for resale.

Are children allowed?

The recommended age for New York City Ballet performances is five years and older. In addition to performances of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, the Company presents a variety of programs suitable for audiences of all ages. Please ask about family-friendly performances. All attendees must have a ticket in order to be admitted into the theater. Parents of young children who are restless during performances will be asked to accompany their children outside of the auditorium until they can be calmed to minimize the number of audience members who are disturbed.

What if there is inclement weather?

New York City Ballet does not cancel performances due to inclement weather. All ticket sales are final, and there are no refunds or exchanges permitted on group tickets. On the very rare occasion that there is a recognized emergency and the performance is cancelled, there will be an announcement placed on the homepage of this website.

What is the scheduled run-time of the performance?

Performances are approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. Please check online for specific running times.

Is there a coat check at the theater?

Yes, coat check is located on the Orchestra level of the theater.

May I take photographs or make recordings?

The use of phones and any photography, recording, and electronic devices in the auditorium is not permitted during the performance.

How can we purchase souvenirs?

Souvenirs may be purchased at the New York City Ballet Gift Shops, located on the Promenade level and lobbies of the theater one hour prior to performances, during intermissions, and directly following performances.
