Annual Luncheon

Tuesday, February 4, 2020

We invite you to join us for the 2020 Annual Luncheon, an eagerly-awaited highlight of New York's social season. This year's program, Modern Masters, will explore how NYCB's founder George Balanchine broke down barriers between classical ballet and modern dance through an exchange of ideas with visionary choreographers like Martha Graham and Merce Cunningham. His innovative exploration of incorporating other dance genres continues to be a hallmark of the work presented by the Company today. Through performance, demonstration, and interviews with past and present NYCB artists, we will explore Balanchine's legacy and how it paved the way for many of today's choreographic voices as they push ballet into new and daring directions.

The afternoon will begin with the onstage program at 11 AM, followed by a reception hosted by Ruinart Champagne, and an elegant seated luncheon on the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater. Purchase by Friday, December 6 and your generosity will be recognized on the printed invitation.*
