The 2019 Annual Luncheon, Balanchine’s Ballet Revolution, explored how George Balanchine transformed the art of ballet and created one of America's great ballet companies, and how his desire to create work of its time continues to inform NYCB’s mission. Moderated by Donya Archer Bommer with panelists including Justin Peck, Suki Schorer, and Edward Villella, with NYCB dancers in lively discussion and demonstration of some of Balanchine’s most iconic works, this special afternoon saluted NYCB's founding father.
