New York City Ballet seeks an Administrative Manager to work for The George Balanchine Trusts. The position will be responsible for supporting the day to day activities of the Trusts’ office related to the intellectual property of George Balanchine held in the George Balanchine Trusts. This is an Exempt position reporting to the Director of The George Balanchine Trust.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain integrity of the George Balanchine Trusts with the goal to preserve and protect the creative work and legacy of George Balanchine
  • Manage records related to licensing the ballets to Companies, Ballet Schools, Universities, Galas and Gigs working with the Director on licensing and repetiteur arrangements including generating licenses
  • Support Director in financial matters including creating invoices and generating reports as requested
  • Maintain schedules for rehearsal and performance periods for companies and schools
  • Oversee the Trusts’ social media and website, regularly creating and updating content
  • Manage video files and media sharing with companies and repetiteurs
  • Maintain overall office organization; create and refine systems
  • Assist Director and Foreign Representative as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of ballet and George Balanchine ballets in particular
  • Excellent computer, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems, take initiative and handle sensitive, confidential situations 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/MA in dance/ballet/arts/administration/business
  • 5 years administrative experience in arts-related areas
