Keenan Kiefer
Keenan Kiefer was born in McKinney, Texas and began his dance training at age 7 at Taylor Dance Studio, continuing his training at Academy of Dance Arts in Allen, TX under Megan Buckland, Shannon Watters, and Jonathan Campbell. He attended the summer course at the School of American Ballet, the official school of NYCB, in 2023, before entering SAB as a full-time student for the winter term that year. As an SAB student, Kiefer performed in George Balanchine’s Serenade at NYCB as part of a celebration of SAB’s 90th anniversary. He became an apprentice with NYCB in July 2025 and joined the corps de ballet in July 2026. As an apprentice, he performed a featured role in Peter Martins’ The Sleeping Beauty (Court Jesters), originated a featured role in Jamar Roberts’ Foreseeable Future, and originated a corps de ballet role in Tiler Peck’s Symphonie Espagnole.
As a student, Kiefer was named a Texas Young Master by the Texas Commission on the Arts and New York City Dance Alliance’s National Outstanding Teen Dancer in 2022, and was recognized by YoungArts for choreography in 2022 and 2023. He also appeared as a dancer in Season 3 of the HBO Max TV series And Just Like That…
