Movement Workshops for Children with Autism
As New York City Ballet continues to prioritize the health and well-being of our patrons, artists, staff, and the community at large, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020-21 Season and annual performances of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®.
Education programs held during this time are either postponed or offered remotely.
Join the artists of New York City Ballet in these one-hour movement workshops especially designed for children with autism and developmental disabilities.
Children will learn a ballet-based warm-up and movement combinations inspired by some of NYCB’s most treasured repertory, and give a lively performance for accompanying family and friends to conclude the event. Workshops feature live piano accompaniment. No prior dance experience needed. A visual story will be sent prior to the event and a designated quiet space will be available. Siblings are encouraged to participate.
