Movement Workshops for Children with Physical Disabilities
As New York City Ballet continues to prioritize the health and well-being of our patrons, artists, staff, and the community at large, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020-21 Season and annual performances of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®.
Education programs held during this time are either postponed or offered remotely.
Join the artists of New York City Ballet in an exploration of the music, movement, and themes of some of NYCB's most treasured repertory.
These one-hour workshops are especially designed for children with physical disabilities and movement disorders (including Dystonia, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, and others). Under the guidance of a medical professional, each participating child will be paired with a volunteer medical student “buddy” who will offer assistance with mobility and stability throughout the workshop. No prior dance experience needed. Siblings are encouraged to participate.
