Explore and refine your ballet abilities with NYCB’s Ballet Essentials Workshop Weekend
A Four-Day Ballet Experience for Adults Ages 21+
Designed for adults with beginner to advanced beginner ballet experience, this four-day workshop will give you a glimpse of what it’s like to train exclusively with NYCB. You’ll gain insights on technique and learn choreography from your favorite NYCB works. All workshops will be led by NYCB dancers and artistic staff, and feature accompaniment by company pianists.
Every day will begin with an extensive warm-up or company class designed to prepare you for the dance-filled day ahead. Participants will be divided into two groups according to level where they will learn NYCB-inspired choreography specially-tailored to their experience with ballet. In addition to repertory workshops, participants will observe an exclusive in-studio lecture demonstration featuring NYCB Company members, take Pilates and yoga classes designed for ballet dancers, and have other special behind the scenes experiences.
The weekend will culminate with the chance to perform for an invited audience of family and friends. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from the dancers you have admired onstage and bond with your fellow ballet fans. Invigorate your passion for ballet with this one-of-a-kind opportunity.
