Led by NYCB educators, this program introduces students to New York City Ballet.
Participants will experience NYCB’s home, the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, and learn about the art of ballet. Groups will view the theater from the Fourth Ring, watch a ballet video, explore costumes and pointe shoes, and get an up-close look at the orchestra pit and the stage (schedule permitting).
Backstage at the Ballet tours are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a determination has been made regarding your school's application, we will contact you via email. Please note that due to limited availability, a maximum of two tour slots are available to each school, regardless of grade or class.
$25 non-refundable registration fee per tour slot
Monday tours are offered at 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM (October - June). Additional tours are available on select Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 10:00 AM (December only).
15 (minimum) – 30 (maximum) students per tour slot with 1-3 accompanying chaperones and teachers. Groups larger than 30 students will be divided into two separate tour slots.
Due to the current closure of the David H. Koch Theater as a result of COVID-19, we are not accepting applications for Backstage at the Ballet Tours at this time. If you would like to be notified when tour enrollment becomes available, please enter your email below and we will contact you.
