A Celebration of Innovative Voices with a World Premiere and Two Convention-Challenging Works.
NYCB Resident Choreographer Justin Peck’s first main stage world premiere since February 2020’s Rotunda is followed by the pointillistic Summerspace, returning to the NYCB stage from its 2019 revival for the Merce Cunningham centennial, complete with Morton Feldman’s experimental score and the Robert Rauschenberg-designed décor and painted leotards. Wheeldon’s charging DGV: Danse à Grande Vitesse, a fleet and intricate dance for a cast of more than 25 performed to a minimalist score by Michael Nyman, closes the program.
