After breakthrough cases in the Company caused the loss of two weeks of rehearsal, and as COVID-19 continues to surge, New York City Ballet has determined that adjustments to our winter performances are required to try to minimize the spread of COVID-19 among members of the NYCB community, provide flexibility to make changes that will help reduce the potential for additional complete performance cancellations, and provide our artists and other personnel the necessary time to prepare.

The Company has thus made the following revisions to our winter schedule:

  • The opening of our winter performances has been delayed until January 27, effectively cancelling performances January 18-26.
  • Peter Martin's full-length production of Swan Lake has been replaced with George Balanchine's one-act version and will be presented on two special mixed repertory performances.
  • Two additional larger-scale ballets have been replaced in the repertory - Carnival of the Animals and Diamonds.

Ticket holders for cancelled performances will automatically have the value of their tickets put on their nycballet.com account by January 15 for use towards a single ticket or subscription purchase during the remainder of the 2021-22 Season through May 29.
