A Place for Us highlights the interpersonal charisma of its two dancers who at one point dart around and interact with shifting patterns of light.
Christopher Wheeldon’s A Place for Us, a pas de deux set to scores for clarinet and piano by André Previn and Leonard Bernstein, had its world premiere at NYCB’s 2013 Spring Gala performance. It features lighting designed by Penny Jacobus, and costumes designed by New York-based fashion designer Joseph Altuzarra. The ballet is dedicated to Jerome Robbins.
