Theater Accessibility

Lincoln Center’s campus is on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, between West 62nd and 65th Streets and Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. The David H. Koch Theater is located on the south side of the main Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts plaza. Please visit Lincoln Center’s Accessibility Page to view the Accessible Map of Lincoln Center. 

To access the David H. Koch Theater with as few stairs as possible, the best drop-off location is Columbus Avenue and 63rd Street. Follow the canopied ramp to the theater entrance, equipped with door actuators, into the lobby for elevator access

Accessible Parking

The most convenient parking for the David H. Koch Theater is located at 20 Lincoln Center Plaza, in the Metropolis Parking Garage’s Blue Section (self-parking). The Blue Section is accessible via the garage entrances on Amsterdam Avenue at 63rd Street and mid-block on 62nd Street and includes designated accessible parking spaces. Reserved parking is available for advance purchase. To reserve a space, please call 212-721-6500 or visit the parking provider’s website.

The accessible pedestrian route from the garage to the theaters begins in the Blue Section. For the most direct access from this area, exit via Jaffe Drive (closest to the accessible parking rows) and follow signage to the elevators serving the theaters. From Jaffe Drive, turn right and proceed along the pathway to the elevator for the David H. Koch Theater. At the elevator, select “Plaza Level,” then follow the pathway to the Theater’s main entrance.

Accessible Elevator

A wheelchair-accessible elevator is located to the right of the box office windows in the Lobby to transport individuals from the Lobby to the Orchestra level of the theater. There are elevator banks on both sides of the Orchestra level that access all other rings.

Accessible Seating Accommodations

• Orchestra Level: 3 chair locations
• First Ring: 9 chair locations
• Fourth Ring (when available for sale): 6 chair locations

The seats in our Theater range from 19” to 23” wide. Some Orchestra level aisle seats have armrests that can fold up for ADA access when patrons with mobility devices want to transfer. 

Many of our seats require patrons to go up or down at least one stair, and the Fourth and Fifth Rings have steep stairs that can be challenging for those with sensitivity to heights.

Service Animal Policy

We welcome all service animals and guide dogs. Emotional support animals are not permitted. If further accommodation is required, please contact us by emailing Customer Care or calling 212-496-0600.

Other Venue Amenities

Restroom facilities with wheelchair accessible stalls are available on all seating levels. A family/gender-neutral restroom is available on the Orchestra level, by the House Left elevator banks.

Recessed water fountains are available on all levels; water fountain cups are available on the Orchestra level.

Changing tables are available in our family restroom on the Orchestra level, house left side and in the women’s restroom on the house left side of the First Ring.

Pending availability, guests may also make use of a lactation room. Please ask house management for assistance.

For performances with printed programs, alternates format in braille and large print may be available. Please ask an usher or house management for assistance.

Additional Amenities

The following amenities, available at the Orchestra left coat check, require a driver’s license or major credit card for use.

• Infrared assisted listening devices (induction or hearing loop systems are not available)
• Binoculars: there is a $35 cash fee for lost binoculars
• Sensory kit, including noise reducing headphones and fidgets
