As much as it is an inventive investigation of ballet partnering and a vehicle for Principal Dancers Kyra Nichols and Adam Lüders, for whom it was created, Beethoven Romance is also a love duet that creates a sense of connection and belonging between its two dancers. The courtly and romantic pas de deux makes full use of the ballerina's musicality and gift for dramatization, as well as her technical prowess, displayed in subtle swoons, twists, and effortless balances.
