Invigorated by Schumann’s grand composition, For Clara celebrates movement through a clean, linear style by marrying the precision of classical ballet with ideas of uninhibited expression.

Lauren Lovette’s For Clara premiered at the Company’s Fall 2016 Gala. Lovette, named NYCB principal dancer in 2015, chose Robert Schumann’s Introduction and Concert Allegro, Op. 134, for her first work for NYCB. The costumes were designed by fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez and lighting by Mark Stanley.
