Andrea Miller’s sky to hold follows its protagonist on their journey to find light and warmth, featuring an array of delicate and airy costumes by Esteban Cortázar and vocals from Lido Pimienta, who also composed the ballet’s score.
Andrea Miller's sky to hold is her first live work for New York City Ballet, following her film new song created for NYCB's virtual New Works festival in the fall of 2020. Miller, the founder and artistic director of New York-based company GALLIM, created sky to hold for NYCB's 2021 Fall Gala . The ballet of 16 dancers is set to Lux Aeterna by Lido Pimienta, an NYCB commission, and features costumes by fashion designer Esteban Cortázar and lighting by Nicole Pearce.
