Italian choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti is known for the athleticism and dynamism of his ballets. He and his close collaborator, Bruno Moretti, have created many works for Italy’s Aterballetto, where Bigonzetti was artistic director from 1997 to 2007. In Vento, from the 2006 Diamond Project, is the second of three works that the pair created for New York City Ballet.
