Created for New York City Ballet’s Architecture of Dance Festival, Outlier is British choreographer Wayne McGregor’s first original work for an American dance company. McGregor is currently the Artistic Director of Wayne McGregor/Random Dance, and the Resident Choreographer of London’s Royal Ballet. Set to composer Thomas Adès’ Violin Concerto (Concentric Paths), McGregor says Outlier has been informed by the minimalist notions of simplicity and color theory.
