Mr. Allan's second work for New York City Ballet is a seamless outpouring of virtuoso solos, lyrical duets, and folk-theme inspired ensembles. According to the choreographer "The music (a collage of orchestral works by three Swedish composers) has a great romantic quality and I wanted to create a ballet with different emotions." Mr. Allan has selected excerpts from the compositions of three outstanding Swedish composers whose lives spanned a period of enormous changes in music.
