Mr. O'Day's first work for New York City Ballet is a ballet for four dancers, an on-stage violist, and for one movement, a pianist. A mix of the contemporary jazz idiom, sports imagery, and lyricism, the athletic choreography is filled with breathtaking spins, leaps and beating jumps. Kevin O'Day was a member of American Ballet Theatre, the Joffrey Ballet and has also danced with Twyla Tharp, William Forsythe's Frankfurt Ballet, and has appeared on Broadway in Singin' in the Rain. Mr. O'Day was a member of Mikhail Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance Project. He choreographed Quartet for IV (and sometimes one, two or three...) for the White Oak Dance Project.
