Grace Scheffel is member of New York City Ballet’s corps de ballet. She was born in Sea Cliff, New York, and began her dance training locally at age 6. As a student, she performed with NYCB at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Circus Polka, La Sylphide, and A Midsummer’s Night Dream during the summers of 2014-2016. Scheffel attended the summer program at the School of American Ballet, the official school of NYCB, in 2017, before enrolling full-time at SAB for the 2017 winter term. She received additional training at summer programs at Miami City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and The Royal Ballet School.

Scheffel became an apprentice with NYCB in August 2022, and joined the corps de ballet in July 2023.

As an apprentice, Scheffel performed a leading role in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker (Dolls).
