Spring Gala

Thursday, May 7, 2020

This spring, New York City Ballet will host a festive evening celebrating the cornerstones of the Company's essence: the physical poetry of its dancers, a treasured repertory of masterpieces, the transformative power of innovation through new work, and the magic of collaboration that unites all the elements of the theater to make something truly beautiful. We invite you to join us on Thursday, May 7 at the 2020 Spring Gala: In Pursuit of Beauty.

The performance will feature a new work created by Jamar Roberts, Resident Choreographer and Company Member at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, in what will be his inaugural piece for NYCB. Returning to the stage will be Balanchine's romantic Sylvia: Pas de Deux, which has not been performed by the Company since 1994. Rounding out the program will be Balanchine's modernist masterpiece, The Four Temperaments

The gala evening will begin with an elegant cocktail reception hosted by Ruinart Champagne, followed by the onstage program, and will conclude with a glittering black-tie Supper Ball on the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater with dancers from the Company in attendance.
